In 1817 Cornets Hunter and Morrison, two English officers on the Madras foundation, on their route from Hyderabad to Pune with a small guide were gotten at Uruli (उरुळी) 20 miles east of Pune, and under arrest here.

Eventually after, by Gokhla's requests, they were pulled up to Vasota in Satara, and, on the destruction of that fort in April 1817, they were restored to opportunity. In 1818 Kangori was taken by Colonel Brother, after the fall of Raigad fort.

Mangalgad includes of a lonely Temple, called Kangori Devi Temple, with storages at the top. The wada and jail are both in ruins.

Mangalgad or Kangorigad is one of the forts located in the thick valley of Jawali. Valley of Jawli made of thick Timberlands, huge mountains & deep valleys in the medieval period, which made this area secure.
Jawali is included by Mahabaleshwar, Makarandgad, Mangalgad, Chandragad, Pratapgad, Kawala Fort & Parghat. "More" family governed this valley for ages. Mahad was a principle exchange focus then. Goods emptied in Mahad were dispatched to different places through the varied exchange courses.
